‘Gamebred’ - now one of the biggest and most popular fighters on the roster - returns to action this weekend when he fights one time best friend Colby Covington at UFC 272.

Once the uncrowned king of the split decisions, Masvidal returned to the octagon following a brief stint on reality TV and became a certified PPV star.

Box office knockouts of Till in London and Ben Askren in Las Vegas in 2019 catapulted the Miami-native to super stardom and he cemented this reputation by becoming the inaugural ‘BMF’ champion at the expense of Nate Diaz to cap a whirlwind 12 months.

Although he lost to Usman on Fight Island in 2020 in his bid to become the 170lbs champion, the 36-year-old has achieved more than he could have possibly imagined when he fought on the streets of Miami for petty cash.

He celebrated his new fame and fortune by splashing a cool £1.6million on a Miami mansion after taking inspiration from Tony Montana, played by Al Pacino in Scarface - about a man who rose to power in the Florida city.

Like the fictional protagonist in the 1983 film, Masvidal has Cuban heritage and battled through abject poverty to rise to the top like Montana did in Brian de Palma’s bloody classic.

As well as dressing up in Montana’s iconic white suit and red shirt combo for a press conference against Diaz in 2019, the Miami brawler also enters the arena to music from the film.

And he has taken his obsession one step further by purchasing the 6,800-square-foot property in the Kendall community which looks almost identical to the one from the film.

With incredible marble flooring and an extravagant open plan design, the mansion is perfect for hosting parties.

There is a full gym to keep Masvidal in prime fighting condition, a tiki-tiki bar with the option for al fresco dining and an amazing swimming pool surrounded by numerous palm trees in classic Floridian style.

The bathroom is almost an exact replica of the one Tony had in his mansion, surrounded by pillars and expensive drapes. Perhaps Masvidal can toast a victory over Covington with a Montecristo No4 cigar, if he can topple 'Chaos' in the main event on Saturday.

As well as a games room, the pride and joy of the property is a Koi pond and extravagant waterfall feature which is just one garish statue away from being almost a carbon copy of Montana’s residence.

If he can finally get his hands on that belt then the world will truly is Masvidal’s, after all.
