During World War II, Nazi officials offered to help reinstate Edward VIII to the British throne in exchange for peace with Germany in correspondence known as the Marburg Files.Since before the start of World War II, the British Royal family’s connection to Nazi Germany has been called into question. In 1945, U.S. military forces discovered a collection of papers and telegrams, later referred to as the Marburg files, that made the connection even harder to ignore.
